It’s A Candy Avalanche

Gym Girl’s Pumpkin

Soccer Boy’s Pumpkin

The Halloween conquerors have returned to the Suburban lair and are busily sorting out their haul, negotiating trades, and evaluating the evening.  I’d say it was a great Halloween:  mild weather, fun costumes, trick-or-treating with friends.  Dancer Girl and Gym Girl went around the neighborhood on their own, meeting up with a couple of other neighborhood girls.  Soccer Boy and Adventure Guy joined Soccer Boy’s friend and his dad to make the rounds. Our Chinese visitor and I stayed home to pass out candy.  He enjoyed seeing all the kids in their costumes, and we had the usual assortment of visitors, ranging from a tiny little one in an adorable lady bug costume to teenagers who had barely made an effort at a costume.  He took lots of pictures so that he can share the American Halloween tradition with his students when he returns to China.  And I spent a little time explaining to parents that he was a visiting teacher from China, learning about our traditions, rather than some weird guy who was taking pictures of their kids!

And now, it’s time to start avoiding all that yummy candy that’s invaded the house, at least most of it!  Self control…self control…self control…
